About CENFROCAFE Cooperative
The CENFROCAFE Cooperative, located in far north western Peru. The Cooperative has members spanning throughout both Jaen and San Ignacio Provinces, within the highlands of the Andes Mountain Range, encompassing an ideal coffee growing altitude of 1,300 to 2,000 meters.
The Cooperative was founded in 1999, and now serves over 2000 members located throughout the Cajamarca Region. CENFROCAFE continually implements quality control and farmer training programs, and also runs a number of development initiatives for its members, spanning the twelve districts of Cajamarca it serves. These initiatives include both focusing on farmers’ production processes, and also by providing loans to assist with harvest, materials and schooling for members’ children. Economic leadership training is another development initiative specifically provided for young people within the cooperative.
